No major complaints with the firearm. When i first purchased it a few months ago i had some issues getting the first round to chamber properly. After some use the issue has subsided. The breakdown of the firearm can be stressful at times. I love theres absolutely no safety on this gun. The only other issue ive seen is the paint on the rear grip on the slide has started to come off from going in and out of my holster. Ive only owned my gun one month Major upside for the firearm is the recoil is almost non exsistant. Also it is very much so a point and hit with this firearm. Love the sights. Overall still super happy with my firearm and really recomend this smith & wesson

I just purchased one and I already own a .357 Model 686 and love it, but not practical for open or conceal carry. That's why I went to the SD40VE. I trust and love Smith & Wesson firearms. My only issue with the SD40VE after putting a few hundred rounds down range is the sights. Since this is designed for self defense for almost any user, why didn't it come with night sights The picatinny rail is nice but mounting a laser or flashlight then holstering it for open carry is next to impossible. I would have paid a little extra to have some sort of illuminated sights and make it a complete self defense firearm. Overall, a great gun at a fair price.
