Scott W. Wagner is a 35 year law enforcement veteran. He began his law enforcement career as an auxiliary sheriff's deputy. Soon after, he progressed to full time positions working undercover liquor enforcement, undercover narcotics enforcement and street patrol.

Wagner is a certified law enforcement instructor in the areas of firearms, defensive tactics and numerous other areas. He has been a full time law enforcement instructor and police academy commander for the past 25 years. He recently retired after 20 years of service with an area Sheriff's Office where he worked patrol, training and SWAT assignments. Currently he is a Sergeant and training instructor with the Village of Baltimore Ohio Police Department.

In addition to being the author of numerous articles on the Shooting Range Blog, Wagner is a nationally known writer for the U.S Concealed Carry Association and Harris Publications. Since 2009, he has also written three books for Gun Digest, including The Gun Digest Book of Survival Guns and The Gun Digest Book of the Tactical Shotgun.
