These are unprecedented times and we are all learning to manage through the rapidly changing situation together. Please know that the health and safety of our customers, as well as our own employees, is our top concern. During these unsettling times, we understand that everyone is concerned for their safety and wants to take the necessary precautions for their family. We are experiencing very significant increases in in-store and online order volume, as well as an increase in customer service inquiries through e-mail and phone calls. We want to be able to serve as many of our customer's needs as possible, but of course there are many limiting factors that dictate the number of customers we can serve in each workday.

In response to our current environment, the following actions and policy changes are being taken to manage the situation at hand:

March 26 Update:
All Stores to Resume Online Ordering for In-Store Pickup only

Dear Vance Outdoors Customers,

Beginning Sunday, March 29th at 6 p.m., we will resume accepting online orders for firearms & ammunition. These orders will be for in-store pickup only.

After placing your order online, you'll then be redirected to a reservation page, which will list available dates and times for you to arrange your pickup at one of our store locations. We will only allow one customer per reservation in our stores.

If you have any other firearm related transactions, such as: transfers, repairs, layaways, etc; please contact your preferred store during our new temporary store hours to schedule an appointment.

Until further notice, our temporary store hours will be as follows:

  • Tuesday - Friday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • Saturday - Sunday: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

March 20 Update:
All Stores Are Closed Through March 30th

Dear Vance Outdoors Customers,

At Vance Outdoors, we believe that during a time of crisis we should all work together towards a common good of our community. Our priority during this time has been the safety and welfare of our employees and our customers. We have done our best to stay open to allow our community members the ability to exercise their right to protect themselves and their property during these uncertain times. Over the past week, we have restricted the hours we are open and we have restricted the number of people we have allowed in our stores to maintain social distancing as much as possible. We also implemented additional cleaning and sanitizing procedures within the stores.

In light of the latest news and updates relating to the COVID-19 virus, we have decided it is in everyone’s best interest to close our retail locations to the public effective immediately. We plan to be closed at least through March 30th. We will continue to listen to Governor DeWine and the health-care experts' instructions and assess our re-opening date based on the information and recommendations at hand.

For any customers who have a paid for a firearm or any other product that is on layaway OR on hold for an in-store pick-up, we understand your frustration and we will be working to communicate with each and every one of you to determine what you would like to do with your layaway during this closure. You will have the option of keeping your product on layaway so it is here for you when we re-open the doors, or you can choose to cancel the layaway and we will refund your money. If you would like to cancel the order, please e-mail us at shop@vanceoutdoors.com with your name, contact number and your order number and indicate you’d like to cancel for a full refund. We will reach out to each of you beginning this Monday, March 23rd to determine your desired course of action. Please have patience and know that we will be in contact with everyone as quickly as possible.

March 20 Update:
Shooting Range Memberships

All annual memberships will be extended by an additional month.
All monthly memberships will be extended by the amount of days our range has been closed this month.

March 18 Update:
New Procedures and Policies

  • OBETZ STORE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY, MARCH 23RD – To allow our employees a period of rest during these busy times, we will not be open at any retail location on this date.
  • OBETZ SHOOTING RANGE CLOSED NOW THROUGH TUESDAY, MARCH 24TH – Our shooting range is closed to the public from now through Tuesday, March 24th, 2020. We will re-assess the situation at that time and update you accordingly.
  • ALL OBETZ TRAINING CLASSES SUSPENDED THROUGH THURSDAY, APRIL 2ND – All training courses scheduled from now through April 2nd are suspended and will be rescheduled for a later date. Any customer that has paid for a course and is unable to attend the course at a later date will be refunded their money.
  • RETAIL STORE HOURS (FROM NOW THROUGH SUNDAY, MARCH 22ND) – All three of our retail locations (Columbus, Obetz and Hebron) will open at 9AM and close at 5PM. As a necessary precaution to keep our stores a healthy work and shopping environment, we are limiting the number of customers in the store at one time. As a result, there will be a line outside the door that you will be required to wait in (please dress accordingly based on that day’s weather conditions). Please note that we will be limiting the number of firearm sales each day due to the finite number we can process in the hours we are open. Please see the notes below for firearm vs non-firearm purchases:
  • FIREARM PURCHASES - Those purchasing a firearm will be issued a “ticket number” when they enter the store. We will stop issuing ticket numbers to firearm buyers starting around 2PM each day (based on volume levels at that time). We will not be able to issue a ticket to everyone in line at the time we cut off sales. If we are unable to issue a ticket to everyone in line at the time we cut off sales, we will provide you a ticket for the next day.
  • NON-FIREARM PURCHASES – A separate line will be formed outside the store for customers NOT buying a firearm (i.e. – only buying accessories that can be shopped for without a salesperson’s assistance, like ammo / holsters / cleaning supplies / etc). This line of customers will be cycled through the store as other accessory purchasers leave.
  • PHONE CALLS – We are currently unable to answer phone calls due to the volume of people we are servicing that are in the stores. You are welcome to e-mail us using the CONTACT US link at the bottom of our website (www.vanceoutdoors.com). We will do our best to address all inquiries, but response times will be delayed due to the volume we are receiving.
  • E-MAIL INQUIRIES – As noted above, please feel free to e-mail your inquiries to us. We are doing our best to prioritize and address them, but please expect delays in the response time due to the volume.
  • ONLINE ORDERS – Due to the unprecedented amount of sales traffic in our retail stores, we have unfortunately had to temporarily suspend all new orders from being placed online. Items are being picked and purchased so quickly that on-line inventory levels are not guaranteed to be accurate on the website. We are truly sorry for this temporary inconvenience.
  • EXISTING ONLINE ORDER FOR “IN-STORE PICKUP” – Any online orders placed for in-store pickup prior to us shutting off online orders will not be ready for pickup until you are notified via e-mail by us. As noted above, our online inventory is not guaranteed to be accurate due to the heavy in-store sales. If the item you ordered is no longer available, you will be notified and refunded any charges. We are working to process all orders as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.
  • EXISTING ONLINE ORDERS FOR “SHIPMENT” – Due to volume levels, please note that shipping times may experience a delay of up to 7 days or more. As noted above, our online inventory is not guaranteed to be accurate due to the heavy in-store sales. If the item you ordered is no longer available, you will be notified and refunded any charges. We are processing and shipping orders as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience.
  • INVENTORY LEVELS – Please note that, while we do have plenty of firearms, ammunition and related accessories in stock for you to purchase, some items may be out of stock temporarily. We also have quantity limits on ammunition purchases to ensure supply for all of our customers. We currently have inventory of various Full Metal Jacket products in 380 ACP, 9mm, 38 Special, 357 Mag .40S&W, .45ACP and .223Rem/5.56NATO, .22LR and many more. (note that inventory levels are subject to change on a daily basis).
