Prerequisite: Personal Defense Rifle Basics or Full Series Weapon Craft Wednesday Rifle
This is the second level of training in the Vance Outdoors Personal Defense Rifle Series. This class will continue to build on the skills learned from the previous class.
Advanced Personal Defense Rifle will cover “getting off the X” or to simply put it, shooting on the move. Skills like shooting with your non dominant side, transitioning to your pistol, and how to work around a doorway or barricade will also be covered. This class teaches you the tactics you will need to know in order to work in close environments, like your home of office, rather than just standing in a lane and shooting at the range.
For this class you will need a reliable rifle platform in a caliber sufficient for personal defense, a minimum of 3 magazines (depending on the rifle), spare ammunition carrier, a rifle sling, handheld or weapon mounted light, reliable pistol with a strong side holster, spare pistol magazines, pistol magazine carrier, eye and ear protection, and 350 rounds of rifle ammunition and 150 rounds of pistol ammunition.
AR pistols are allowed in class but must have a third point of contact such as a blade or brace and must comply with all current ATF regulations. It is recommended that if you plan to bring an AR pistol with you, to also bring an AR platform rifle, as Vance Outdoors reserves the right to not allow AR pistols on the range at any time.
There will be no full auto shooting allowed. Any/all Class III items must be accompanied by all appropriate ATF paperwork.
