Shooting Range & Training Center

Youth Pistol League

This pistol league, which is hosted at our shooting range will meet every Friday, starting September 16th, for eight weeks. We'll cover basic safety, handling, and marksmanship first, giving you a firm foundation for a lifetime of safe & skilled recreational shooting.

Start the night with ten to fifteen minutes in the Coach's Corner: marksmanship instruction provided by two instructors who are also experienced competitive shooters. Then we're off to the range to apply new knowledge and warm up on a practice target. You'll have a coach right at your shoulder if you need support. Next, enter your weekly score with ten shots on each of 3 Bullseye targets. Then, on to the fun with each week's variety theme.

Zombie Attack, Carnival All-Stars, & You Sunk My Battleship!

These are just a few of the themes in our 8-week lineup! But don't worry: we will never neglect your development as a sharpshooter. Each theme has a second purpose (on top of the fun): to give you familiarity with an element of competitive shooting, and thus prepare you for our grand finale. The Ladies Variety League finishes with Graduation Night: one bullseye target match shot in the traditional Ladies League style, to be counted with your weekly bullseye scores for League honors.

  • Cost: $80 for league pass or $12 per meet
  • Date: Every Friday starting September 16th
  • Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Equipment

It does not take a lot of expensive equipment to compete in Bulls-Eye shooting. The basic guidelines are as follows:

  • Semi-automatic pistols in .22 caliber rimfire only, 10 rounds or greater magazine capacity
  • Laser sights may not be used on any firearm used for this competition.
  • Open sights and non-magnified red-dot sights are accepted.
  • Semi-automatic pistols in Rim fire are allowed including 22LR and up.
  • Eye and hearing protection must be worn at all times by all participants and parents while in the shooting range area.

A parent will need to remain with the youth shooter at all times, due to capacity issues a second observer is not allowed.

What's provided

Vance Outdoors will provide a firearm to league participants at no cost, however ammo for the loaned firearm will need to be purchased at our range counter. Eye and ear protection will also be available upon request at no cost.
