Keltec P17 22LR 16-Round Semi-Automatic Pistol

I purchased this pistol in December 2023 and was very impressed with the handling and simplicity. While shooting the pistol, I had two out battery detonations, returned it under warranty and the barrel, bolt, firing pin and extractor were replaced. With that issue fixed, the slide is now failing to lock open after the last round has been fired. It's going back to Keltec again under warranty and will be sold when it's returned. I recommend spending a little more money for higher quality.

You get what you pay for. This gun is worth the money its priced at. Do not shoot cheap ammo through it and you won't have a problem. Best 22 out there for the price.

Pretty impressive with a few caveats. Clean the pistol thoroughly. Identify all points of friction by manually cycling the slide a few hundred times. Reduce friction where you can, then lightly lube these spots. Take the magazines apart and inspect the followers for any burrs or mold marks, and remove them by scraping or sanding. If your pistol is experiencing failure to feed, with the cartridge getting stuck halfway into the chamber, you might consider slightly depowering the magazine springs. A safe way to do this is by dropping the spring into a 1/2-inch diameter PVC pipe and plunging it with a wooden dowel 100 times or more to compress and release the spring. Wipe everything down dry and reassemble the mag. My pistol is running everything I put in it now after a few early hiccups and doing these steps.

Lightweight and high capacity. My father and I both have one. Fun and cheap to shoot. Between the two of us, I’m guessing 15-20 thousand rounds down the pipe. No issues, every one, and then there’s a dud with Remington junk. Everything else runs smooth!!
