Vance Outdoors Training INTRODUCTION TO MODERN SPORTING RIFLES

Have you ever thought about taking an AR Rifle class but didn’t know where to start? This Class is designed to instruct you on the fundamentals of shooting an AR that our other classes will build upon.

The Vance Outdoors Introduction to Modern Sporting Rifles Course consists of 3 hours of classroom instruction and 1 hour of range time, where you can put the skills taught in the classroom to practical use. This is an entry-level class for the novice/beginner to become familiarized with the AR-15 platform and safe rifle handling. All the following will be discussed, demonstrated & experienced:

Topics Covered:

1. Safe Firearm Handling
2. Proper terms and nomenclature of the Rifle
3. Differences in ammunition and the purpose of each
4. The basic fundamentals of marksmanship
5. How to safely load and unload the AR
6. Correct hearing protection

Although this class is taught by NRA and OPOTA Certified firearm Instructors, it is not an NRA Certified class. Upon completion of the class, you will receive a Vance Outdoors Certificate of Completion, signed by your instructor and the Vance Outdoors Training Coordinator.

Course Requirements: Students will need a reliable Rifle, eye and ear protection and 50 rounds of ammunition. If you don’t have a rifle of your own, one will be provided at no additional cost.
