(3 out of 5) Issue with slide catch

Bought this Gear Pack Echelon from the Columbus store and drove to Alum Creek to sight in the optic. Out of the box, the slide catch would lock the slide back, but I could not release the slide. I had to pull the slide back by hand to get it to release. Disappointing that this was not caught by Springfield Armory's quality check before being sent out. Went back to the firearms counter at Alum Creek, and they are currently working with Springfield to resolve the issue. Gun shoots great otherwise. It is a flat shooter, great sight picture on irons and with the Veridian green dot, and the integral compensator is great on recoil management. Just unfortunate that there was an issue right out of the gate from the manufacturer.
